PavementPulse.com is going through some major changes this weekend from 20 June to 21 June 2026, so may experience some service disruption, but hopefully this will be kept to minimum.
Latest News
The website has been moved from its original home and is now at it's new location on Blogger. The url is pavementpulse.blogspot.com but over the weekend (early Saturday) will be changing to pavementpulse.com. As I am writing this the change has started to take affect but will probably take 24 hours before it has propagated fully. If you prefer type in pavementpulse.blogspot.com or have it book marked, it will get you to the site whilst the changes take place and will remain in the future.
Why the change?
With the huge changes to Google search announced a few weeks ago with it's focus more on AI driven search capabilities with the traditional search taking what looks like more a back seat, this has affected websites across the board with some people reporting a huge drop in traffic. I have seen the difference in the last couple of weeks with some days no visitors at all (I kid you not). This looks to be the new normal, so Pavement Pulse is splitting into different directions with the following changes where updates will appear.
PavementPulse.com
Will now just be a portfolio and hub site with a few photo updates and will now be hosted by Blogger which funnily enough is part of Google. No blog posts will appear on this site apart from website related news. It will be more gallery focused with the same theme being Black and White Street Photography in London with a predominantly Fine Art focus with a dash of Hard Core Urban Street thrown into the mix. If you want blog articles about Street see the new kid on the block below
Pavement Pulse at Substack
All blog posts and articles that were previously at PavememtPulse.com/blog are being progressively move to Substack. Accordinng to Google AI Substack is
Substack is an online publishing platform that lets creators publish articles, podcasts, and videos directly to their audience. It blends the features of a traditional blog, an email newsletter, and social media, allowing writers to build independent media businesses
You can find my Substack at https://pavementpulse.substack.com/
Went live a few weeks ago when the Google update was announced. Initially free to join and is email subscription only. there may be a premium paid option in the future, not sure yet but free will stay. Watch for further news on that development. This is now the blogging and in depth article arm of Pavement Pulse.
Pavement Pulse at Mastondon
I'm increasingly looking at "Open Source" social media and Mastodon is where it's at for me. It's an open source Twitter/X like how it used to be when it first started out. Not a fan of BlueSky....not really me. Bit of a slow burner this one but it's refeshingly ad free and it looks like not much in the way of the dreaded algorithims or fricking bots....either.
Still playing with this one You can find my Mastodon at https://mastodon.social/@pavementpulse. Just over a month old. Watch for further news on that one.....could be big.
Pavement Pulse at Deviant Art
Another account I opened some months ago with nothing there, but now I have now been doing regular updates the last month or so and that is Deviant Art. As it's name implies it's an Art space and is ideal for a Fine art Street Photographer such as myself.
A bit different to the Instagram experience, less rat race and more genuine interest in your work. Never had so many comments and again it looks to be fairly bot free. You can grab me at Deviant art here

Should be updates at least every couple of weeks with some work that has not appeared anywhere else with some shots that are a bit more on the creative boundaries. Will probably be used to test the reaction to some experimental work. Up against some serious competition on here and I am looking forward to he the challenge.
Again just scratching the surface on this one but it has a lot of potential and another refreshing change from the big algo driven players.
Further Developments
Further updates may be added to this blog post so bookmark and............... watch for further news.
