Abstract and Experimental Fine Art Street Photography
Photos in this section are taken on the streets of London but are more abstract or experimental in nature where people are just reduced to shapes or are visible but can't be recognised. It's all a bit "Farewell Photography"
To put it in more simple terms these photos are in the What The @#+?>> Category. and are more tongue in cheek. But what is Abstract and Experimental in photographic terms?
Abstract Definition: relating to or denoting art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but rather seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, colours, and textures. My definition is simply "out there and a bit on the weird side!"
Experimental Definition (Artistic) Experimental art involves artists using new and unconventional approaches in their work, often pushing the boundaries of materials, techniques, and concepts. It's characterised by a spirit of exploration, trial and error, and a willingness to challenge established norms
All these photos are boundary pushers, you could say they are rejects or recycle bin jobs, you could say that they are so artistically inclined that you can't make out what is going. Is that important? You decide!
I would say this gallery is a tribute to the Daido Moriyama book "Farewell Photography". If you haven't seen it, take a look and then you will see what I'm talking about here. Certainly outside the box stuff! It will change how you view photography and take photos forever. Boundary pushing would be an understatement!
