Street Photo Analysis: Behind the Photo No11 - Double Double

Double Double: Oxford Street, Central London

A bit of Pure Street Photography but delving into the world of reflections, doubles and meticulous timing and randomness. Taken on Oxford Street in Central London on a building corner. Think it was taken at lunchtime.  I think I was just messing around at the time.....having a laugh?. It's good to play and mess around in creative terms. Sometimes it produces something. Other times (many) it doesn't. You don't know until your try? Something is trying to get out here....... beyond my normal high contrast arty extravaganza specials. Possible new style emerging and a new way forward?????

What's going on...if anything?

Just a woman reflecting is interesting but people want more these days. Why is the photo  called Double Double? The woman in reflection is Double No1 and you have two men walking in opposite directions which makes for a possible Double No2. Is that a reflection as well? BUT one reflection is looking....the other is looking straight ahead? So maybe not.

The woman looks like she is about to be run over in the reflection? Some sort of rule of thirds going on. Some sort of frames within a frame? I just don't know, this is very similar to the Behind the Photo No6: Shades

It's one of those experimental photos playing around with timing, reflections and layering  but is anything going on beyond the Double Double situation? It's a mind games photo and not much more. Or is it????

It has the touch of the Alex Webb about it. Some complexities but this is no Alex Webb photo?

My Rating:

No story, nothing really holding it together apart from the Double Double thing. What is the subject? The woman? The lamp post?  What is this photographer trying to say? Maybe its intention is to confuse the viewer?

Clever timing of the guy second from left in the frame. It's not an easy photo to take, it has layering BUT an International Street Awards this IS NOT. But.... I don't know, something stopped me from deleting this, so something must be there? Just an exercise in randomness. A head scratcher? Rating 6/10 or is it 8/10/

Not sure. It has made it onto this blog, I'm not going to put garbage on here....... so something is going on?  What it is I have no idea? Love these sort of photos, you can learn a lot from them! .

In summary its good.....but it isn't???? What do you think??
