Street Photo Analysis: Behind the Photo No14 - Steamy Window

Steamy Window: Borough Market, London

A steamed up window with condensation, interior lights shining through and a couple walking through this scene in reflection. Taken outside a Bakery in Central London on 6 December 2023 where the doughnuts were £3 each. A light and water droplet reflection Black and White Fine Art Street extravaganza!

A surreal other worldly scene taken in Borough Market in South East London, a highly recommended place to go if you are a Street photographer especially if you lean more towards the Fine Art end of the Street Photography spectrum, but you have to be very creative and have a keen eye to spot moments that most people miss....but they are there!

Initially a photo that was more focused on the droplets of water and the light that was being scattered through it by the sunlight and the display lighting. One of those scenes that most people would walk past, but it's sometimes the tiny things that are easy to miss, rather than the blatantly obvious, these nano micro moments  have way more potential and move your work into a more original realm.

The photo is one of those blink and you will miss sort of scenarios. Shoot this scene head on and it wouldn't work as well, sideways on and sideways lighting
was the way to go. Ten minutes later and the scene was gone.

It's not a powerful photo that would stop you in your tracks on Insta and get you hitting that like button in a knee jerk reaction. This is a more subtle number that you would bookmark, come back to later and then spend some time with it to fathom out what is going on and what the photographer is trying to say here? That is the sign of a good photo.....but is this a good photo?
